MONDAY MOVES: GABI SIEWCZYNSKI

Meet our March Monday Moves spotlight, Gabi Siewczynski, a media professional with years of experience in the traditional agency world working for leading media agencies from Starcom to Social Studies. Gabi was craving a change and wanted to explore media in a different industry; fast-forward to now, where she is an Account Manager at MediaSense.

What was important to you when thinking about your next career move?

I would say finding something where I could establish roots and fill a role where they were expanding their team, and they needed help; I didn’t want to enter a role where they were like, oh, we’re hiring people, but we don’t really need new people, etc. I was looking for a role that needed me. I was leaving agency life thinking I’m not running from this, but I wanted a change; I was looking for a change of pace and exposure to a different side of the industry.

Were you actively looking for a new opportunity before working with Monday?

Yeah, I definitely had an eye out, just like how you get emails from LinkedIn and whatnot. Being approached by Monday was definitely what got the ball rolling. I couldn’t have gotten a new job without the recruiters. So, I think that it was like the catalyst that made things happen.

Was this your first time working with a recruiter?

Yes.

What was your experience like working with Monday and Silvana?

Both Monday and Silvana were lovely to work with. Silvana was very responsive and quick. Not only did we click well, and everything was smooth, but she was proactive and efficient. I reached out to Monday via the general email inbox, and within two weeks, I was already working with Silvana because something came across her desk that might have been a fit.

I initially found Monday through an in-person event at Soho House, which was maybe a year and a half ago. I went through a friend who had recommended it through a PR job. It was lovely to see what Monday does. Everyone at the event was accommodating and welcoming; you could tell they were passionate about their job.

What were the areas you feel Monday supported you the most in during the whole recruiting process?

The support as far as prep goes. It was nice getting calls before to give me ideas like, ‘Hey, this is what you should do to prep. ' In addition, Silvana and someone else who works with her helped with the negotiation and logistics. That was very nice because she advocated for me just based on the initial conversation about salary. Everyone at Monday was well-versed and experienced.

What are you most excited about in your new role?

Learning and specifically learning a whole new side of the media world. Also, I’ve met many people on my team in person or who have traveled over from the London office, and everyone is so lovely, approachable, and knowledgeable. I would say just to meet new people in the industry and learn.
