Three for Three

Last Thursday, Monday Talent celebrated its third birthday!

It’s been a wild ride, but one thing we’ve never lost sight of is our mission for Monday - to reimagine recruitment and put DEI at the heart of everything we do. We’re just as committed as when we first launched to reshaping the talent acquisition industry and building workplaces that are not only diverse but put in the work needed to build equitable and inclusive cultures.

Our team is the driving force behind us staying true to our word. We’re so lucky to work alongside an incredibly diverse group of people who are like minded where it matters -  in their values and unwavering commitment to Monday’s mission.

Launching a business during the pandemic taught us a thing or two. But in honor of our third birthday, we’re going to share three things we’ve learned along the way.

Lesson 1: Transparency, transparency, transparency

As a startup during the pandemic, when everything was so uncertain, transparency became the guiding principle in our relationships with our team and our clients. We were, and still are, upfront about the challenges, uncertainties, and changes we face as a new business in an industry renowned for its unpredictability. This authenticity has not only deepened our connection with our team, clients, and community but has been a powerful driver of our success.

Lesson 2: Innovation is more attainable than you think

You don’t need to wait a certain number of years or until you raise a certain amount of capital to innovate. When we started Monday, we knew we wanted to disrupt the recruitment space, initially envisioning this transformation through the lens of new systems or groundbreaking technology. However, as we progress, it’s become evident that innovation has been an integral part of our journey all along. From our approach to recruiting to utilizing marketing and branding strategies typically associated with consumer brands, we've continually pushed boundaries and are redefining what a recruitment firm looks like.

Lesson 3: Aim big? We disagree

In the corporate world, there's a prevailing notion that bigger is better. We found the opposite to be true.

Aiming too big, right out of the gate felt incredibly overwhelming. So, we shifted gears and embraced the strategy of setting small, achievable goals and reaching them consistently. Each milestone we reach gives us the motivation to keep going. Now, three years in, we are well on our way to reaching that “big” place but can actually enjoy the journey.

We’re three years in, and we’re just getting started! Cheers to many more Mondays!

xx,

Jamie, Gillian, and Carly
